Description

Evocative of invigorating fresh dewy morning sunrises, my “Renewal” paintings are celebrations of the simple joy of new beginnings, both in nature and within ourselves. Painting, printing, and stencilling with bits of nature collected on my morning walks facilitated a deep connection to the shapes, textures, and sensory experience of nature as I worked on this painting (watch me work!). Scribbles, layered paint, and gestural brushstrokes depict the wild beauty and complexity of both nature and our inner worlds, while quiet spaces of soft, peaceful, layered light emerge, offering gentle reminders of the simplicity and hope present in even the most tumultuous of environments.
