St Ive’s inspired seascapes … works in progress
This is what’s currently on my studio wall, in different states of completion… a series of abstract landscapes inspired by my visit to St Ives last Summer.
I want them to be gentle, muted, harmonized colours, but the Payne’s grey called so now I have some high value contrast to work with. Which I’m loving, and which is true to the landscape, but also still finding my way with it!
Pops of yellows and rusts to come next, I think.
Thinking a lot about the contrasts of fluid/ heavy body and opacity/ transparency and saturation/ desaturation… contrasts that I love
